Many of us would like to ‘do more’, to ‘make a difference’ and yet our political awareness renders us powerless. We are concerned that any action designed to help others might be seen as charity, or development, supporting rather than resisting and transforming the very systems we oppose. How do we move forward and take actions which might effect real systemic change? How can the autonomous and local provide an antidote to poisonous dominant paradigms?
Drawing on a combination of critical social theory and practical action, this workshop is aimed at those politically savvy enough to know whats wrong, but who are seemingly trapped in a system which refuses to acknowledge equity and justice.
